I was 54 years old and had developed high blood pressure and osteoarthritis, which was significantly affected by the extra weight I carried.  I could not be on my feet for more than 10 minutes without back, hip, and knee pain.  I had trouble with most daily activity but the thing that bothered me the most was the problem with getting to the floor to play with my granddaughter.  I was just too young to feel so old.  I had tried multiple diets - you name it, I tried it. Overweight since childhood, I suffered through years of failed diet attempts. Now, after losing 201 pounds, I've found out what life and living is all about. I had gastric bypass surgery, which I now consider my new birth since I feel as though I've been reborn. Since surgery I am free of all of my previous co-morbidities such as high blood pressure, reflux disease, borderline sleep apnea and borderline diabetes. It also helped diminish some of the social stereotypes that accompany being obese. Gastric bypass is a tool for weight management and not a quick fix. My lifestyle has changed to where I have to eat to live instead of live to eat. My family and I sincerely thank Dr. Dheeraj Bojwani and Indianmedguru Consultants for efficiency & work well done.
