Dr. Ambuj Chowdhury is currently a Senior Consultant, Cardio thoracic & Vascular Surgery. A pass out from Mayo College, Ajmer, Dr. Choudhary completed his MBBS from S. P Medical College, Bikaner (1988). He was awarded the Dr. Indu Goyal Memorial Gold Medal for having stood first in college. He was also on the Merit List of Rajasthan University. He completed his MS General Surgery from SMS Medical College-Jaipur. (1993). He then went on to complete his M.Ch degree from SGPGI- Lucknow (1996). Dr. Choudhary has also acquired a Diplomate -National Board in Cardiovascular & Thoracic surgery in 1996.
He was selected for the Starr Ahmed International Fellowship program at the St. Vincents Hospital and Research Centre in Portland, Oregon, USA in 2000.
During his 2-year period he got to work with Dr. Albert Starr, who performed the first Heart Valve Replacement Surgery in the world - Starr Edwards Valve; Dr. Storm Floten; Dr. Aftab Ahmed; and Dr. Jeffery Swanson.
After having gained the American experience, Dr. Choudhary came back to India and joined Batra Hospital as a Senior Consultant in Cardiac Surgery in 2002.
He has worked at some of the leading hospitals in India like S.M.S - Jaipur, SGPGI-Lucknow and Batra Hospital- New Delhi. It was from Batra Hospital, New Delhi where he was Sr. Consultant - CTVS Surgeon and he joined Fortis Hospital- Mohali on December 15, 2004.
